so what are the elders likely to do if you decline their offer ?

Blood Card Issue
by pometerre21 ini posted this on r/exjw, but i thought i might post it here as well.
so the elders in our kh are moving to get us to sign new simplified blood cards and keep them on file.
i really need to not rock the boat in my current pimo status because of circumstances.. my cousin knows i have doubts about the blood thing, but i can’t show her that my doubts are getting to me.

A spy's life is a lonely one
by LevelThePlayingField inso i have been awake since about this time in 2013, so about 5 years.
and the craziest thing about it is that now, no one, and i mean no one know's i am an apostate.
meaning, that i don't believe the jw minds set/beliefs at all, and no one knows it.

if you really must stay in the congregation---have a bit of fun with it. when you answer up in the watchtower study--make a deliberate mistake. nothing really serious--but just enough to get a smile from any others who are also awake.
awake--? why stay awake--nod off during those looong boring talks. snore. fart.. never wear a suit. nor a tie in the warmer months. sandals even.
do you still do talks ? plenty of room for errors there.
never go to assemblies.
never contribute any money.
never volunteer for anything.
regularly miss going to meetings--at the last minute. especially if youre on the programme.
and as for door knocking.....

I bet you're not the only pimo in your congregation. Look around in a public talk....see how many have that glazed expression in their eyes. The lights are on..but there's no.one home.

Why do ones that got out come back in?
by moreconfusedthanever ini have not been to a meeting for about 2 years now.
i do not intend to go back but one thing has me baffled.
why do ones that have faded and been out for years return?

Without reading the whole thread..this may have been covered. I knew a few born one that left in their teens..usually because their preferred lifestyle didn't match the cult requirements. ( Smoking..drugs..sex..etc ). When they get older.?married maybe..kids perhaps...then they feel the need to conform.

I had a couple of door knockers call a few months back..and raised the subject of the sale of their hall. They replied the money is going to be used to build more halls in Africa. I kid you not.

Reflecting On The JW Version Of You
by pale.emperor inlately i've been thinking over how far i've come over the last 2.5 years since leaving the cult.
when i first left i remember not knowing who i really was and what my beliefs and values were.
previously my values and beliefs were dictated to me the the governing body in watchtower magazines.. i'm politically active, being a member of a political party and i'm even considering running in my local election in a few years.. when it comes to religion, im an atheist who has little time for superstition and "god did it" answers to complex questions.

the jw version of me:
i was a lazy person--no ambition--no drive. spent several years as a pioneer, which brought out the worst in me. i think associating with other dub pioneers just made it all a pointless existence
as regards marriage--well--yes--it suited me--mainly because it removed the need to chase tail.
